Dust off that holiday sweater, load up your games and join us for a very special Game Night on Dec. 5 at Sugar Maple (441 E Lincoln Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207) from 6-10pm.

This is an open play night - all games are welcome. You are welcome to come play TTRPGs, but we don't have any specific RPGs scheduled.

In addition to hosting games on this night, we're also hosting a Game Exchange and the Boardgame Silent Auction, which will benefit AbleGamers Charity.

It is FREE to attend and bid on silent auction items. Game sellers pay a small fee to reserve a spot in the auction (details below).

What is the Game Exchange and the Silent Auction
  • Game Exchange: Bring a new or gently used tabletop game gift wrapped. Games should have a value of at least $25. They'll be placed under the tree. After the Silent Auction, everyone who brought a game, will get to select a game from under the tree! (Please avoid standard board games such as Monopoly, Life, Jenga, etc. Keep it nerdy!)
  • Silent Auction: Thin out your game cabinet, make some money, or find some new games at a great price!
    • Sellers: Gather the games you'd like to part with. Organize them into 'lots' - lots can have a theme, but it's not required. Just group them however you'd like. Lots can consist of: games, game pieces, miniatures, maps, books, etc. All items must relate to tabletop games. Lots can be as big or small as you'd like - successful lots have a variety of items that will attract multiple bidders.
      • We have room for 30 lots at the event. If you have 8 games organized into 2 lots (2 groups of 4 games each), you'll need to purchase 2 spaces in the auction.
      • The money spent to purchase a lot will be donated to AbleGamers Charity.
      • On Dec. 5, arrive at Game Night with your games no later than 6:00pm. We will set them up and provide Silent Auction bid sheets for you.
      • Sellers set the opening bid amount - $10-$20 is pretty standard. You want to start low to get people interested, then let them raise the price through their bids.
      • The Silent Auction runs 6:30-9pm.
    • Buyers: Want to find some great deals on some new to you games?
      • Bring CASH! Winning bids must be paid for in cash.
      • The Silent Auction starts at 6:30pm. At that time, you can walk the tables to find your next favorite game.
      • Find something you like? Bid on it! You'll write your name on the Silent Auction sheet along with your bid amount. Bids must increase by at least $2.
      • Keep an eye on your bids in case you get outbid. The Silent Auction closes at 9pm. We will call out the winners for each lot - bids must be paid immediately to the seller before you can collect your games.

Additional Silent Auction details:

  • We will use paper bid sheets - full instructions will be listed on them.
    • Bidding starts at 6:30pm. If you haven't arrived by 6:00pm with your items, you will forfeit your spot. There are no hosting fee refunds.
    • You set the base price for the bid. Bids will increase by $2.
    • Auction ends at 9pm.
    • Sales must be conducted in cash and payment must be made to the lot holder once bidding ends. If any items were not bid on, lot owners take their items with them. Hosting fees will not be refunded - that money is being donated to AbleGamers Charity.
  • The Silent Auction will run from 6:30pm-9pm. Lots won must be paid for in cash immediately after the auction ends. If you do not have cash, you forfeit to the next highest bidder.
